Jose Mourinho was appointed Fenerbahce manager this summer, and it hasn’t taken on for the legendary Portuguese manager to make his mark on the Turkish giants.
The Istanbul-based side have made a number of big-name signings from Youssef En-Nesyri to Caglar Soyuncu to former Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin, with Fenerbahce still having just under two weeks to make even more additions.
With Giovani Lo Celso once on Fenerbahce’s radar, it’s clear that Mourinho is keen to bring in a signing from the Premier League that could help Fener in their quest to overthrow Galatasaray as Turkish Super Lig champions.
And the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager now has his eyes set on a Newcastle star.

Mourinho targeting swoop for Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier
According to TalkSport, Mourinho is keen to bring Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier to Fenerbahce, with the former England international also wanted by fellow Turkish side Besiktas.
TBR Football exclusively reported that Trippier has told Eddie Howe he wants to leave Newcastle, with the right-back unhappy with the decision to make Bruno Guimaraes captain having worn the armband last season.
With Howe keen to keep hold of the 33-year-old defender, though, the coming days will be interesting for Trippier’s future, especially with Fenerbahce now in the mix to sign the former Atletico Madrid star.
Indeed, with Trippier not pleased with his situation at Newcastle, a move to Fenerbahce to work under Mourinho could be tempting for the fullback, especially with the Turkish side also competing in Europe.

Trippier should really consider Fenerbahce approach
Noted as an ‘exceptional’ leader, Trippier has rightly been considered one of the best fullbacks in the Premier League for the past few years, with the defender key to Newcastle’s success under Howe.
However, with the defender upset with being stripped of the captain’s armband, now might be the right time to move on from St. James’ Park, with Fenerbahce an alluring destination for Trippier.
Having already played abroad, the decision to move to Turkey could be one that Trippier is already thinking about, and getting the chance to play under a manager as legendary as Mourinho will be tempting for the former England star.
