Jose Mourinho is now looking to reunite with a player he signed for Tottenham.

The Portuguese tactician has embarked on a new experience in Turkey after joining Fenerbahce, already luring the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin to Istanbul as he attempts to snatch Galatasaray’s Super Lig title away.

Now – according to reports – Jose Mourinho is keen to enlist the help of a wantaway Tottenham player as well…

Jose Mourinho wants Tottenham outcast Sergio Reguilon

A story from AS now states that Mourinho has asked Fenerbahce to sign Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.

The Spain international is keen to leave Spurs after falling way down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou, having been sent out on two separate loans in the 2023/24 campaign, spending time at Manchester United before a stint at Brentford.

It comes after Sky Sports claimed that Barcelona are also keen to sign Reguilon.

AS add that Fenerbahce’s bitter rivals Galatasaray want the Tottenham No.3 as well – and are preparing to make a bid for the Spaniard.

Interestingly, the Spanish news outlet mention that Galatasaray and Spurs hold a strong relationship, having previously negotiated deals for Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez, so it sounds like the Turkish champions are favourites.

Reguilon – who seems to love Mourinho, having called him a “tactical monster” earlier this year – made 28 appearances in all competitions last season, providing four assists.

Spurs need to sell

Tottenham will be hoping for a bidding war to commence between Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Barcelona for Reguilon, or else the north Londoners are likely to lose their £27m signing for nothing in 2025.

The 27-year-old only has 11 months left on his contract and will be able to discuss sealing a free transfer elsewhere as soon as January.

Borussia Dortmund are also keen to sign Reguilon, so there is certainly a market for the Tottenham outcast, to say the least.
