Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be busy over the coming weeks as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his squad in the transfer window.

Spurs finished fifth in the table last season to qualify for the Europa League in what was a decent maiden campaign for Postecoglou.

Tottenham will now be eager to bolster their ranks in pursuit of a Premier League top-four finish, which they came close to securing last season.

A new striker is said to be on the Spurs wishlist in order to improve their firepower, and a number of front line targets have been mentioned in recent weeks.

However, one ‘devastating’ forward linked with Tottenham now looks set to join a club that will compete in the Champions League this term, according to Rudy Galetti.

Tottenham beaten by Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce to Youssef En-Nesyri

The player in question is Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri. Tottenham were said to be ahead of the likes of Manchester United for the Morocco international.

However, Galetti has now reported that Fenerbahce have secured an agreement with En-Nesyri, who has “definitively” chosen their offer.

The 27-year-old will be in Istanbul next week for his medical, with former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho having played a key role in securing an agreement, added Galetti.

Mourinho effect set to help Fenerbahce beat Tottenham to En-Nesyri signing

En-Nesyri would have been a good shout for Tottenham as he’s a very talented, prolific and experienced forward in his prime years.

Breaking the Lines recently published an in-depth analysis article on the player, where they sung his praises.

They described En-Nesyri as a ‘devastating’, ‘reliable and effective’ forward with ‘arguably one of the best leaps in football’.

Meanwhile, Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout previously described the reported Tottenham target as a “pure goalscorer”.

However, it looks like the Mourinho effect has ensured that Fenerbahce will trump Spurs to his signing.
